Envirolink Northwest’s Recycling and Waste team recognises that the changes in the waste sector offer substantial routes to business growth for companies in the Northwest. There are opportunities throughout the supply chain, extending from pure research through technology optimisation, to full commercial exploitation, both within the region and beyond.  The work of the Recycling and Waste team has four main elements:

• Sector Development - Supporting the Northwest region to become the premier business hub for waste related operations, throughout the UK and worldwide
• Market Development - Ensuring that high-value and practical uses are developed for materials produced by waste treatment and recycling.

• Companies which wish to test or demonstrate novel technologies

• Organisations seeking to procure recycled products and materials

Depending on their needs and the stage of their own development, companies can access help from one or more of the teams. Over time, it is intended that processes will be supported through the development phases, from research and development through to full commercialisation and market development.
